Are you a ?Maverick??
With all the challenges facing the financial services industry today, it would be easy to revert to familiar, traditional ways of doing business. At BAI, however, we believe that difficult times demand new and unconventional ways of confronting both challenges and opportunities. That’s why we have developed BAI Mavericks in Banking, scheduled May 5-7 in Palo Alto, Calf., to provide a forum for retail financial services executives who embrace change and are able to achieve results through their independent spirit and provocative ideas.
While BAI Mavericks in Banking will attract leaders who demonstrate independent maverick traits, this event is not a conference. In fact, you could call it an un-conference … everything about it will be different. There won’t be formal presentations, lectures and exhibit halls. Rather, this forum has been developed to give you the opportunity to discuss issues, debate different points of view and identify potential solutions to some of the most challenging issues confronting retail bankers today. And it will be done primarily through intimate small group interactions and informal networking.
Helping frame these discussions will be maverick bankers, including Dick Kovacevich, chairman of Wells Fargo & Co., and Chris Larsen, CEO of Prosper. Well-known bank analyst Tom Brown, CEO of Second Curve Capital and bankstocks.com, will also join these mavericks to discuss the types of innovative vision and leadership needed to sustain success in the years ahead.
But, the real value of the forum will be in the many ideas, viewpoints and experiences that every participant will share. BAI will facilitate the forum to capitalize on these contributions by conducting a full-day Open Space meeting that will challenge and encourage every participant to stop thinking like old-school bankers and start working through tough issues with new and more creative perspectives. We believe that this interaction will be the most valuable part of the experience and the place where participants will set the agenda and work together to focus on what matters most in today’s retail business environment.
Check out the BAI Mavericks in Banking agenda at www.mavericksinbanking.com/ to see how this unique gathering can benefit you and your organization. We encourage you to accept the “Mavericks Challenge” and join us in Palo Alto.
