CHICAGO, August 15, 2016 – BAI is committed to the development of the next generation of financial services leaders and is focused on providing powerful tools, relevant content and meaningful connections to help professionals take their careers to a higher level. As part of its mission, BAI is calling for nominations for its Emerging Leaders Scholarships, which offers $3,000 scholarships to four deserving future leaders of financial services companies with less than 10 years of experience in the industry. The scholarship program will make it possible for four recipients to attend BAI Beacon, a bold new conference experience taking place in Chicago, October 5-6, 2016.

“Developing the leaders of tomorrow is critical to our industry’s growth and success,” said Debbie Bianucci, president and chief executive officer, BAI. “BAI is known for bringing leaders together to drive positive change and move the industry forward, and we’re very excited again, this year, to offer emerging leaders the opportunity to gain actionable insights at BAI Beacon that will help them learn and develop as they grow in their careers.”

Scholarship winners will be awarded one BAI Beacon conference registration giving them access to more than 40 sessions, two keynote luncheons and a VIP pass to an innovation celebration. The scholarship is valued at $3,000 and also funds two nights at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. Individuals can nominate themselves or a colleague. All applications must be received by September 9, 2016. Scholarship winners will be notified by September 16, 2016. To nominate yourself or a colleague, visit BAIBeacon.com and submit an application.

BAI Beacon is a one-of-a-kind conference opportunity to network with some of the most influential industry leaders, strategists and visionary thought leaders from around the globe. BAI Beacon will provide a comprehensive, forward-looking view of key industry issues and connect leaders in a more focused and meaningful way on-site and year-round. The conference will empower leaders to set a new course and drive positive change in their organizations.

At BAI Beacon, the four scholarship recipients will receive unparalleled educational opportunities and use of technology to drive a personalized, fast-paced agenda, providing new perspectives and 360-degree views on integrated sales, marketing and product development; optimizing channel distribution networks; payments strategy and fraud; compliance strategies beyond the regulations and risk management; and small business banking sales and strategy. In addition, the recipients can participate in the U.S. Premiere of FinTechStage, offering a unique view and experience with leading industry innovators.

Shawn Wheeler, Vice President of Call Center Service and Sales at Fifth Third Bank, was one of the BAI Emerging Leader Scholarship recipients from 2015, providing him an opportunity to attend the BAI Retail Delivery.

“Attending the BAI Conference as a recipient of the BAI Emerging Leaders Scholarship was a terrific experience,” said Wheeler. “I just started a new position at my bank, and the conference opened me up to a wealth of knowledge resources and industry experts. In addition to the learning experience, the conference was fun. The moment I arrived I was treated like an executive, from the accommodations to the staff from BAI coordinating the conference.”
